The short version: if you give me your email, I use it to tell you about the games, and nothing else.

The dispatch (email sign-ups)

You can sign up on this site, or in the Section Command: Helmand Ops playtest, which asks for your email after Zarghun's first day so you can keep playing. Either way, your email address is stored with Kit (kit.com), the email service that sends the dispatch. I use it only to email you about Tactical Chicken games: new missions and playtests, demos, launches and devlog posts. It's never sold or shared with anyone else. Kit sends a confirmation email first, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

The playtest list

If you volunteer to test Section Command: Helmand Ops on the playtest page, your email address and your answers (what you'd play it on, your PC, how much you've played tactics games, whether you've served if you choose to say, and the time you could give) are stored with Kit, like the dispatch. I use them only to choose who gets each test build and to send the invitations. They're never sold or shared, and unsubscribing takes you off the list.

Feedback and crash reports from the playtest

SEND FEEDBACK in the game opens an email to me, or a feedback form on Tally (tally.so) once there is one. Either way the game adds its version, where you were in it, and your system, browser and screen size, so I can match what you write to the build. What you write is stored with Tally, or in my email.

If the playtest breaks, it can send me a crash report, but only when you press SEND THIS REPORT, after it has shown you everything in it: the game's version, your system, browser and screen size, how the game ran over its last two minutes (frame times, memory, errors, and what the game told you), and a note if you write one. There's no name, email or file in it, and your IP address isn't kept with it. Reports are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site, and deleted after 90 days.

Leaderboards

Leaderboard handles and scores are saved in your own browser. They aren't sent to me.

The games and this site

The free games run in your browser and don't collect personal information. The site has no advertising. Its fonts come from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google's servers for them.

Visitor counts

The site counts its visitors with Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by the company that hosts it. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store anything on your device and doesn't follow you to other sites. What I see is totals: how many people visited each page, which site sent them, and their country, browser and device type, never who you are.

Getting your data removed

Unsubscribe from any email, or write to hello@tacticalchicken.games and I'll delete your address.
