Tactical Chicken Studios is a one-person operation. I have been a gamer my whole life, and after taking the long way round, I am finally building the games I always wanted to make. Here is the short version of how I got here.
I first touched code at college back in 2004, writing C++, and somewhere in there I always wanted to make games. I did not carry it on to university, and honestly that is my biggest regret looking back. It is the path that most likely would have put me straight into a games career.
Instead, life took me elsewhere. I have spent the last decade or so as a music engineer and a marketer, building and running websites and digital-marketing systems. It was a detour from games, but it turns out those are exactly the skills it takes to actually build, launch and grow a studio like this one.
In 2020 I finally went all in. I dived into Unreal Engine, picked up Python during lockdown, and started shipping things for real. Tactical Chicken Studios is me making up for lost time: building the kind of games I always wanted to play, and putting them somewhere anyone can play them for free.
If you want to know the kind of games I make, look at the kind I play. Right now that is WARNO, Arma Reforger, Squad and Manor Lords: tactical, military, and base-building. That taste runs straight through everything in the studio, from the top-down squad action of Charlie Foxtrot Company to the management sims on the desktop side.
I build in the open, so the best place to follow along, see early prototypes and tell me what to make next is the Discord. You will also find me on Steam as Fist Full Of Mustard.
Quick, classic-console-inspired games in the Arcade, free to play with no download. Charlie Foxtrot Company is playable right now.
Bigger strategy and simulation projects in the Full Games line, built for desktop and released on stores when they are ready.
It is just me, learning out loud. Devlogs, prototypes and the odd disaster all happen where you can see them.
One short email when something playable drops. No spam, defect any time.
